For those of you not wrapped up in the review nonsense happening over at the National Post’s blog, I’ve just had an essay called “Getting to know Horace: The poet’s place in translating classical literature” published in the latest issue of Arc Poetry Magazine. The piece is a response to my attempts to render some of Horace’s poems into English and includes three translations I have completed. It’s an ongoing project that has taken a hiatus over the last while, but I’m hoping to pick it up again over the summer. As the translating project moves along I’ll post as to its progress.
The issue also has some quality work by other poets you may want to check out.
